Please join WASRG as we kick off the fall with a lunch featuring TN State Representative Joe Armstrong, the President of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators (NBCSL).
NBCSL is the nation’s largest membership association of black state legislators. Over the last 36 years, the organization has grown from 14 members to a body of over 600, who are committed to educating and creating opportunities for their constituents.
Rep. Armstrong began his political career in 1982 as a Knox County Commissioner and was elected Vice-Chair of the Commission in 1986. In 1988, he sought and won election to the Tennessee General Assembly, where he continues to serve today.
