Please join WASRG as we wrap up our fall speakers series with a lunch featuring IA State Representative Helen Miller, the Chair of the Women In Government Board of Directors. 

Representative Miller has over 25 years of leadership and experience and has been in the Iowa State House since 2003. She has served as the Chair of the Ethics and International Relations Committees, and on the Administration and Rules; Agriculture; Economic Growth; Environmental Protection; Appropriations; Human Resources; Transportation; and Veterans Affairs committees. She has also served as an assistant minority leader and an assistant majority leader. 

Women In Government (WIG) invites all the all women legislators across the country to participate in events throughout the year.  WIG has approximately 1000 women state legislators attend the various meetings and conferences they offer each year.  They actively recruit new legislative participants through the efforts of the WIG State Directors, the Board of Directors and the Business Council. 

They serve all women state legislators from the time they are elected to office.  Much of their growth comes from attendees at our Annual State Directors’ Conference, Regional Conferences and State Briefings.  Annually, they set a goal to increase participation, and encourage female legislators to take on leadership roles within the states.  They encourage bi-partisan, bi-cameral participation across the country.
