Join us April 30th for lunch with rising star Maryland Assistant Majority Leader, Del. Adrian Boafo, who brings the unique perspective of being a state lawmaker while also working in government affairs at Oracle. Prior to holding statewide office and serving as a City Councilor in his hometown of Bowie, Adrian spent his professional career working for Members of the United States House of Representatives. He began his service with the House Democratic Caucus as a press intern under the leadership of then-Representative Xavier Becerra (CA-34) and later joined the office of Congressman Ruben Kihuen (NV-04) working as a National Press Assistant. For three years, Adrian worked as Campaign Manager of Hoyer for Congress, the Maryland political organization and campaign representing Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (MD-05). This year, in addition to being selected by his Annapolis colleagues to serve in leadership, Delegate Boafo served on the Economic Matters Committee, and was a member of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland and the Maryland Legislative Latino Caucus. This session, he also worked to forge bipartisanship consensus on housing and criminal justice issues and worked to advance a ballot proposal relating to tipped minimum wage issues.
